How Halo works, who can see your photos, and how your data is managed.
What kinds of events is Halo for?
Any event where many photos are taken and people want to find their own: school sports days and graduations, weddings, conferences, festivals and community events.
How do participants find their photos?
They open the event from the link or QR code shared by the organizer, take a quick face scan, and AI shows the photos they appear in. For open events, no account is needed to search; you only sign in to download. Events protected by a PIN ask you to sign in before entering the PIN.
Who can add photos to an event?
Photographers, organizers and participants can all add photos to the event album, so everyone can rediscover the day from different perspectives.
Who can see the photos?
Each event uses one of three viewing modes. Open to everyone: after face verification, each person sees only the photos they appear in. PIN – only photos of you: signing in, the PIN and face verification are all required. PIN – all event photos: signing in and entering the PIN unlock the whole gallery, for closed groups only. Photos are never published as a public album.
How long are photos and face scans kept?
By default, an event is hidden 30 days after it is created and permanently deleted about 2 weeks later. Contact Halo if you need more time. Face scans from guests without an account are deleted automatically after 7 days; scans saved to an account are kept until you delete them in Settings.
Can I remove my photos or face data?
Yes. You can delete face scans saved to your account at any time in Settings, and you can request removal of photos or data from the support page.
